First, a hungry calf, and fields and fences!
I popped in to a nursery, as they often have plants for sale. Nothing but a smile for me!
These made me think of the one for the Richmond Fair. Isn't that cute?

Someone else has posted fun photos of hay bales. I forget who, but it is a fun thing to do.
One year, I brought in some straw bales. A neighbour/farmer had some for sale! I built a pyramid from them, but I cannot find a photo. It's such an iconic image for this time of year.

Neat bales!
ReplyDeleteI love hay bale art. We have loads and loads of hay bales in Oklahoma.
ReplyDeleteSome interesting things are done with bales and febales.
ReplyDeleteHay bales, when I was young they were oblong, easily handled and thrown by me, well my Dad probably, now they are plastic wrapped, you need a special trailer with a fitting so they unroll as you drive along, and all that plastic!!! Love the 2 versions you found. Cheers,Jean.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I have seen the hay roll used as a body of a spider. People are very creative.. Great post, have a happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteI too helped with the baling on the farm... these big barrels are more like ready made stacks! Still say 'harvest's in and let's batten down though... YAM xx
I especially love the bale and febale! :))
ReplyDeleteSo cute. When I see the new large round bales I wonder how they can move them around at feeding time. When I was a teen I had a horse and could barely buck a small rectangular bale to get it where it needed to be. - Margy
