NaPoWriMo Day 7

she stands alone
arms wrapped around her bedraggled soul
eyes flicker wildly from stranger to stranger
they pass her by
singing their mellifluous songs
leaving her in their dust
dirty
alone

A Birthday in April ~ Wordsworth

“A mind forever Voyaging through strange seas of Thought, alone.”

  2. If only a smile, a helping hand were extended - but if she has given up, perhaps that won't help... Very sad poem.

  4. Thanks, Kay. You are a good editor, polite and kind!

This poem was inspired by some of my hospice clients, as well as some disappointments this past week.
