We have Cranberry Lake, but I don't know if there are any cranberries left now that they have built houses almost all the way around. I assume you mean they are sanding the road to the bog. Or do they put sand in the bog to allow them to harvest easier? - Margy
I'm sad that we moved away, but love virtual visits to the bog. Margy, they sand it in spring to keep down the weeds and bugs. The video explains it all! It's a HUGE human-made bog, you can view more photos here.

Is this Johnston's Cranberry Marsh? It's a great place to see how cranberries grow and are harvested.
ReplyDeleteWhat you're telling me is that spring and fall will be over before I know it!
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know that you lived near a cranberry bog. How neat! We like to visit the ones on the Oregon Coast in the fall.
ReplyDeleteSo cool to live near a cranberry bog.
ReplyDeleteIt is Johnson's in Bala, Ontario!
