Birding in the spring

 It is nearly time to put feeders away. The bears will be on the move soon. This is what happens in May. Mating season and the 2-year-olds are sent to find their own territory.

I am enjoying birding while we can. This red-bellied woodpecker was hanging about. It was tricky!


Then the blue jay arrived. It froze to see what the Jay was up to.


It wasn't any easier to photograph it when it landed on the feeder!
Sheesh! 
It will have to suffice!

I've been noticing other action. I watched a red-winged blackbird land on #75's nets box, and quickly fly away. I'll bet he is in there and not willing to share.



Another moment in time, I spotted two blue jays. They'd both gotten seeds from the feeder, then landed in the chestnut tree. The one begged food from the other. And he fed her. It's the twitterpated season!


Front deck birding is lovely. The bird songs in spring are amazing. The chain saw, not so much!

    At least there is other bird food -- but pity to have to take them down. Still, I would too!

    I loved seeing your feathered visitors today. Listening to a chain saw is somewhat better than a mosquito however!

    It's so fun to watch the birds, not so easy to snag photos of them. I think you did great. I forgot you put everything away before the bears start showing up, but that makes sense.

    We don't have many birds around yet. It is cold again today for them. Great shots of the woodpecker.
