What a beautiful day on Tuesday. I began the day with a moon photo!
The birds have come back. Grackles (5 of them) and one robin.
All hell broke loose on Wednesday with the ice storm. I watched the power outage map and felt we'd be okay. It was tense, though. Living amongst shallow lakes and snow, RVCA is warning of possible flash flooding. We are OK on a hill above the wetland.
I went into town to return empties, bought my weekend wine, picked up kitty litter, return library books, and pick up my grocery order. All is well with our world.
I was wondering what was happening here. The taxi driver let an old man with a walker get out of the car. I met him in the LCBO store buying my wine. She stood around and had a smoke. She didn't bother parking the car, and people had a tricky time getting around her. This is right at the cross walk.
Happily the day before was wonderful. A bit of a teaser, since winter was back on Thursday (-3℃). Back into the freeze zone. Until the 13 cm snow fell on Saturday!
The Arctic Winter Games are being held in Whitehorse! This will give you a taste of it:

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love all the birds and the pretty moon image.
Enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
What is up with that person parking there? Love your Saturday critters, never get tired of seeing them!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to get all your errands done without trouble. I have never heard of the winter games, jumping from sitting looks SO HARD!
ReplyDeleteThe weather was certainly up and down this week. We got a bit of snow last night which is now melting.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful, Jenn! I have yet to capture the moon in a photo, but perhaps one day I will!
ReplyDeleteMy camera isn't good enough to get a clear moon photo. I've tried, I need a better camera. Loved your bird pictures.
ReplyDeleteLots of good stuff going on there except the crappy weather.
ReplyDeleteI misplayed the weather today and got very cold on our walk.
ReplyDeleteSplendid photos of the birds and the moon, lovely to see you two :) Tomorrow night we are told to expect 80 mile an hour winds and a tornado watch. We will be tying everything down. Time nor weather waits for no one, or something like that. Hope you’ll be seeing Caitlin soon.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, birds! Here it is spring today, winter tomorrow (actually, winter today, but the snow hasn't started yet.) Lovely pix, especially of you two!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has certainly been, um, entertaining. We did not lose power, thank goodness. We have a few goldfinches sporting a gold feather or two but still have a complete snow cover up here so no robins yet. And today, oh joy, presently a pea soup fog.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the birds! They are coming back here too, after a very eerie, quiet late summer, fall, and winter. The drought apparently caused them to seek places near water.
