City dwellers vs country dwellers!

I live vicariously! Here is a fun event. Caitlin and Aster went out to dinner in the city.

Next, they went to  Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in concert

They show the movie, and have a live orchestra and a 100 member choir.

There was an interesting instrument. It is called a cimbalom (wiki). You can see an explanation of it on YouTube. I was rather interested in the harp covered with an oven mitt!

We watched deer. There were 14 Sunday morning.

Jan. 18 and Jan. 17, 2024!

We made our own fun at home!

  8. What a fun concert your grandchildren attended. Live music always adds to the experience.
Deer are also fun to watch, with or without music.

  10. I grew up on a small farm, miles away from any town or city, one friend across the road, another about 5 miles away, and now I realise I was very good at making my own entertainment.Bantams dressed in doll's clothes, an old jeep ( relic from when US soldiers were stationed 30 minutes from us) that I decorated with pine cones, big leaves, and pretended to drive it, ( it did not have a motor or top), and I realise that being self sufficient has carried on to this day.Us country gals have that extra special built in talent,You have it too Jenn.!!!

  11. What a perfect contrast: city magic and country calm, both in their own way.
The concert sounds like such a special experience, and I love how you balance that with finding joy right at home too.
It’s all about noticing what’s around you, wherever you are. 🦌🎶 I really love the nature photos. But I think you know that.

  12. My slow brain just connected - you get that many deer because you feed them! Of course! How could I be so dumb!

  13. The white tails have small ears compared to the mule deer.

  15. There is a big difference in City and Country life for sure. I'm glad they enjoyed the concert...but for me the better show would be watching the deer and other little critters.
