🐀 I've noticed more action on the cameras. We'll begin with miniFred! She's returned after being somewhere. And has been hanging out in the burrow under the deck. This space under the deck floods in Spring melt, and I think the burrow does, as well. She returned Sept. 6th, for some reason. She seemed a bit sleepy, being a true hibernator, she didn't seem inclined to do any digging. We'd had cooler weather. I just didn't know what to expect.
I decided to cover the lower deck burrow (#3) since she moved to the shed burrow (#2).
The rocks at the entrance were sheltering large and small ant nests with eggs! And a centipede.
The skunk has been active on the driveway.

You are never short of critter material. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteBad news in Jeanie-Land. I now have my own Fred. We'll call him Michi-Fred. Burrowing under the house. Not sure what to do!
ReplyDeleteMiniFred sounds like such a character! 🐀I love how you notice all her little habits — from chewing and tail wagging to bringing in leaves. Nature’s drama right under the deck, with ants, centipedes, skunks and even a raccoon checking things out — wow! We don't have raccons here in the Netherlands. So I love to see it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these wonderful updates, it always makes me smile.

Great to see and consider changes in Mini-Fred's life! And you share your deck with so many critters! (Not at the same time at least!)
ReplyDeleteMini-Fred! Love it! I could do without the skunk visit though....
ReplyDeleteLots of action with the cameras.. Good that mini Fred moved under the shed, and that you covered over the hole under the deck.

ReplyDeleteAw, darling wee thing - she won out being born at Crumbly Acres!!! YAM xx
...a number of miniFred's cousins live in our back. yard.
ReplyDeletelots of company!! Glad she is back and do you think Fred will be back? My youngest daughter and husband have discovered a skunk underneath their shed. They haven't been able to let the dogs outside to play because of the skunk..hopefully they can get rid of it soon.
ReplyDeleteHello Jenn,
ReplyDeleteI do not think I would like having a skunk on my deck.
Cute captures of your Fred and family.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Your animals are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI always love the varied animals you get on your trailcams. I've put mine up for now.
ReplyDeleteMini Fred is keeping busy.
ReplyDeleteI do love your exotic (to me) critters. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteA sleepy little cutie :)
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to worry about the safety of the critters.
ReplyDeleteI hope the skunk keeps moving...away! Your photos and videos are always a treat to watch! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou always attract the most unusual and fun to watch critters.
ReplyDeleteI hope she winters well and returns to bring joy again next spring.
ReplyDeleteAs always, enjoyed the videos. When we lived in ranch country Oklahoma, I always checked the perimeter with a flashlight before I let Gus out in the dark. Since he sleeps with us, worried he would be 'skunked'. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat and tons of critters!!
ReplyDeleteJenn, do I have to worry if my Fred is digging a burrow under the house? Can they mess up foundation?
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to see your Saturday critters.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
