We have snow!

I know some of you are dealing with snow, others rain. It really is pretty, if you don't have to go out in it, or if you can take your time digging out. The cats had their hour outside in the dark, and came in.

There is something satisfying about clearing it off, seeing the sunshine, and having it burn off!

It was rather funny. By the time I grabbed my equipment, batteries and SD cards to rotate out, the clouds came over, again! This is the path to the cedar corridor, and you can see the coyote tracks leading in.

The deer were watching me from the far side of the frog pond. They circled back, again, to the front of the house.

Those big brown eyes!

The cardinal was thirsty!

They are a lovely pair.

It was a goodly amount of snow on Sunday.

Early Tuesday morning, Prince Harry was here.

The driveway and sidewalk looked great – until Tuesday afternoon!

I just shoveled the back deck, and it is 18 mm rain on top of 18 cm snow. More on this storm later. School busses are cancelled everywhere in our region, except in Ottawa. It is a new mess. I hope I can lift it all.

  2. Both the city plows and our driveway guy did their jobs overnight, so I can head out to therapy soon.

  3. Your snow is beautiful. I love how the cardinals show up against the snow and seeing your beautiful deer.

  4. Wow. Clearing that would be a challenge.

  5. Our rain stopped around 3:30 yesterday, but flood warnings probably are the reason schools are closed here (Black Mountain NC) I feel for working parents! Little ones can't stay at home by themselves. I see your snow after your efforts to clear...a never ending story there. Sun is out now here.

  6. They're saying we may get snow next week, but it'll be nothing like yours I'm sure. We'll see.

  7. It rained for hours down here and there is nothing left of the 1 cm of snow we got yesterday morning. It was a miserable day.

  8. The first one of the cardinal having a drink is excellent. Such a great photo of the red against the snow.

  9. My daughter says it still hasn't snowed very hard in Chicago. Here in Hawaii, we hung our wash out in the sun today. :-)
