We woke to a chilly morn. Yesterday, the wind was blowing the snow across the highway. I will probably exercise inside today. The snowshoeing has been quite something.
Poor Bob V sits in snow.
You can see the layers of dirt in the snow beside the mailbox. You should have seen me whip the snowblower across the highway, outrunning traffic to clear it out.
Down in the forest, the trees carry a load of snow.
It's much nicer snowshoeing in the sunshine!
Wood duck nesting boxes on the frogpond:
This poor old dead elm tree stand alone, stark in the cold.
Back indoors, in the warmth, I process my trailcam images. Things have been quiet, again. There were two coyotes, and a pair of deer.

What a lovely winter walk!
ReplyDeleteFun times snowshoeing. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day and happy weekend!
...it is snowing this morning, but not enough for snowshoes.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter photos
ReplyDeleteI loved to snowshoe through the woods at the cottage.
ReplyDeleteSo quiet and serene and beautiful. (except for the telephone truck. It doesn't seem like very many people these days actually *need* a landline.)
ReplyDeleteA lovely snow-covered landscape! So peaceful looking.
ReplyDeleteHello Jenn :=) Wow! Lovely photos! It is extremely beautiful, You must hear the silence.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
It all looks so beautiful in your forest. It is so good that you own it all.
ReplyDeleteI have to do some hasty maths to make F into Celsius, that is might cold. Love the roadside view. Down here, please do not be jealous, we have had 30 Celsius, and Auckland, about 5 hours north of us, has had deluges, massive flooding, so many homes unliveable, people left with nothing after the flood waters suddenly rose and raged through.Climate change? Who knows. That area had the wettest January in 170 years!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. That looks like hard work getting though the snow - but worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me virtual snow to see and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOH wow, that is some cold snow shoeing!!! Great photos though.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard work snowshoeing throw fresh snow. However, I did like snowshoeing.
ReplyDeleteIt's MUCH easier snowshoeing if there's a track!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, but a lot of work! You have more than your fair share of energy! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI've never been showeshoeing. It looks like hard work!
ReplyDeleteYour trail cams offer so much enjoyment, for you and for us out here. Thanks for sharing them Jenn :) Photos of the snow are very pretty but I can only imagine the work it causes you. I have seen a lot of snow shoes on people's walls when traveling, but never had the opportunity to wear them in deep snow. Sounds like a real workout in itself.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so cold out east! Snowshoeing is an activity I enjoy, but rarely get to participate in. Your snowy woods photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of the amount of snow you got and continue to get. Such beauty, too.
ReplyDeleteGood gosh... so much snow...
