ReplyDeletePoor deer having to walk through that deep snow. And if they choose where you've cleared, there's nothing to eat there at all. Glad they still found something under the bird feeders. A fisher! That certainly was a surprise for me this morning!
ReplyDeletewe came close to hitting a deer on the highway the other evening. When it launched itself off the pavement onto the side, it sunk the length of it's legs. The poor things must be so vulverable in the deep snow. They have a trail system at the neighbours. We used to find their bedding spots up in our back forty. We don't go up there in winter anymore.

ReplyDeleteI thought that was a badger. Your responders call it a fisher. One deer looks like it has some tumors on it's back "knees." I think they're sick of snow too. But they look well-fed if they can keep finding the pumpkins. Linda in Kansas

i've never seen a "fisher", i am going to do more research. they don't eat fish, but why the name? odd. is that a more Canadian animal? interesting, u have me learning. that is so awesome!! so curious. ( ;
