Saturday Critters on snowy Crumbly Acres

We were hit by big storms. For the most part they stay deep in the forest.

The critters have not been too busy, but the odd time...

I snapped it on the other camera, too. It is quick. Wait for it, it'll come back! Jan. 24

The coyotes like to run by the camera.

They are beautiful animals, even in black and white, in the dark!

OK, one more. When spring and summer comes, wee don't see them too much! This pair seems to be frequent flyers! Can you see their eyes in the dark! Very cool.

The snow really slows the critters down.

Crumbly Acres captured the poor deer in the snow!

  3. Poor deer having to walk through that deep snow. And if they choose where you've cleared, there's nothing to eat there at all. Glad they still found something under the bird feeders. A fisher! That certainly was a surprise for me this morning!

  4. we came close to hitting a deer on the highway the other evening. When it launched itself off the pavement onto the side, it sunk the length of it's legs. The poor things must be so vulverable in the deep snow. They have a trail system at the neighbours. We used to find their bedding spots up in our back forty. We don't go up there in winter anymore.

  5. Somehow the deer don't look happy with the snow.

Brrrrrrrr that was quite the dumping of white stuff! Picturesque, no doubt, but the critters do look a tad overwhelmed! YAM xx

  7. Lots and lots of snow - with no fire to toast beside.

  12. I thought that was a badger. Your responders call it a fisher. One deer looks like it has some tumors on it's back "knees." I think they're sick of snow too. But they look well-fed if they can keep finding the pumpkins. Linda in Kansas

  13. I've never even heard of a fisher, much less seen one before. Great that you caught it on camera twice.

Coyotes are beautiful, but those eyes are a bit scary. LOVED the deer shots, though.
