Here we are, back to Friday. There isn't much happening here. We had a skiff of snow, but it pretty much evaporated!
The goldfish pond is nicely filled. It has holes in it, due to mice friends. Today, non-mental note, I shall have to spend a few minutes unhooking the water barrel, again. Checking the weather forecast, I think we are done with rain.
There is lots of action outdoors. Oregano was on the camera, I surely don't know how he survives, crossing the highway as he does.
We have deer hanging about. Some in the backyard.backyard deer from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
Another was in the front yard.Frontyard buck from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
...a skiff of snow is a term that it rarely hear.
ReplyDeleteI for one enjoy all your nature photos & trail cam videos - IMO so much better than someone primping in front of a mirror. The sap dripping & then frozen from the tree's wound is an amazing (sad) sight.
ReplyDeleteI miss so much when we had deer in the field behind us, but alas all the new homes drove them far away.

ReplyDeleteYour photos are, in many ways, much more interesting... endless beautiful scenery is all good and well, but a record of life and nature holds great value! YAM xx
The Coyote scarf is interesting
ReplyDeleteDeer are so graceful.
ReplyDeleteLovely group of deer, and with the buck photos there were some things flying across the screen. Don't tell me some insects are still flying around after all the cold!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are great!!
ReplyDeleteOregano needs to be careful.
Somebody poached a deer on our Turkey Mountain last weekend. I noticed during a hike in another preserve earlier this week that the deer were very skittish whereas before they would stop and look at me for a long time and not move as long as I stayed put. I think somebody is hunting them.
Just caught up on your posts, Jenn. I enjoyed seeing your sketch and I think you should do more maybe of the critters around your yard. Creative! The deer are around here more lately and I sighted one buck, the only one I've seen here. Alas no camera. Lots of turkeys through and one raccoon overnight at the compost. But yes the weather has been crazy. Not a flake here now, just very grey, ugh. Take care!
ReplyDeletePrivacy, what a laugh !!! Love the others, they seem to not be fussed about your voice at all. Oregano must have super road sense.
ReplyDeleteMost people have squirrels in the yard and you have deer. How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this dispatch from Ontario. Love to see it
ReplyDeleteA "skiff" of snow? We might get a flurry or two later in the month. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteSkiff of snow. I thought you always had snow 2 ft deep!
ReplyDeleteThere have been skiffs of snow here, too. But it's all gone now - maybe have more overnight. Vancouver had much more than we did.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty deer.
Don't sell yourself short! I've never seen coyote scat so I learn something new every day!
ReplyDeletei like the first sister pic
ReplyDeleteNo snow for us ... yet, although the weather has got a little cooler.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to see the deer.
All the best Jan
