The forest is miserable with mosquitoes. I took Cinnamon walkies. He's been going out for a pee, and sitting on the front deck. (Fewer bugs there!) Then we bring him in for the day, with all the nesting birds about.
There is a wild water iris, which was striking. I didn't take my camera, as I need a hand to swat bugs. The videocamera documents my trip, though, even if the photos aren't as good.

ReplyDeleteYour cat has more energy than our cats. They sleep all day and come out in the evening to socialize with us.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers that you found!!
gorgeous flower photos.
ReplyDeletePeonies, my favourite flowers along with Tulips, Love those variegated petals . The bugs, I hope they die off once the pond dries up.
ReplyDeleteLovely peony.
ReplyDeleteWow! Your yellow peony is a real show stopper! Mosquitos very bad here as well. I just slather on more skintastic repellant.
ReplyDeletePoppies (anemones) are a favorite of mine. There are places where they form a red carpet. The view of the carpet is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow peony looks so stunning.
First time I’ve seen one.
Blooms, birds, and a cat. You are singing my song. Loudly. I can do without the 'squitoes but ours are dormant for winter. I envy your peony. They are something I cannot seem to grow successfully. They come up each year, but rarely bloom.
ReplyDeleteLots of great color in your flowers .
ReplyDeletei watched a photo vlog today of a guy who went on a photo quest in a Nova Scotia forest. The insects were insane.
ReplyDeleteOh I do like your yellow Tree Peony. I keep trying to find room in my garden for one. I hate misquotes & I see absolutely no purpose in them & for all the birds & bats in my garden I don't any reduction (written while I miserably scratch yet another bite).
ReplyDeleteThose poppies are fabulous. And well done on your peonies. Mine are pretty much gone now, but I loved them when they were great. Your garden looks spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow peony is just stunning! :)
