Bala, Muskoka: down memory lane just before the fire

We took a trip around Lake Muskoka, to Bala, Rosseau (lunch at The Crossroads), and through Bracebridge back to Gravenhurst. (That was another 127 km. ) This was Sunday. The ongoing saga of our Toronto/Muskoka trip!

We traveled on Windsor Dr., where my family and extended family, used to cottage for 50 years, from 1960 - 2010.

Little did we know that a fire was about to break out two days later.
Sadly, the town of Bala is dying.


The signage protesting the Bala Falls refurbished dam is shocking for some. I don't remember seeing the falls so low.

    Well, I just love your floaty skirt and those sandals. Officialdom at the highest level. And it always seems to win, there is strength in the numbers and the power that goes to their heads.
