I was visiting my client, where I usually do my sketching, and put together some silly critters. It is so relaxing! He was sleeping.

| Just a silly one! |
We were at the last Maberly Artisan show on Labour Day weekend. I thought my artistic blog buddies would like this chair! It's a lovely venue, beside an old mill stream.

I was thinking that it would be the time for 'last one' of various species as summer shuts down.
In the backyard I spotted a busy hummer getting some last food for its journey south. The last one is the usual 'bird butt' photo we all have!

The hollyhocks are in bloom, with seeds on the stems. I've not managed to keep hollyhocks going in my garden!

nice piece of art today Jenn! And the chair is nice too.
ReplyDeleteYour sketch made me smile... it's fun.
ReplyDeleteYour chair photo reminded me of a local gallery that had an exhibition of painted chairs by local artists. It was fascinating.
Love humming birds and remember feeding them when we visit Canada. Unfortunately here in foggy bonnie Scotland we don't have them visit but I feed lots of others.
Great photos... even the butt one.
I have double hollyhocks in my garden but it's the first year. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep them going for next year but we'll see.
Enjoy your weekend.
What a lovely quiet time for you, and softly coloured art work, are you saving, and making a book? I can see a story right there with each one. Hugs,Jean.
ReplyDeleteThose hummers will soon be gone. It's a lovely setting for that artisan show!
ReplyDeleteLove the location of the art show. It looks so magical.
ReplyDeleteI agree! that chair is something that has to be seen to be believed!! And I see the photo of your granddaughters in their new dresses - so pretty!!

Some lovely shots here, Jenn. I really like Hollyhocks. You remind me that I'd like to have them somewhere on the property for next year. Thanks for that. And quit with the F word, willya? I love my summer and refuse to believe it's over.. so there! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, fall is coming. the dark green has gone pale. Light is less bright. Nights are cooler and some very cool. We've had frost three times but no damage.
ReplyDeletegorgeous hollyhocks, and the art fair looks like it was quite magical... lovely to see different art fairs...xx
