Here is the tree. Watch Daisy undecorate the tree!

Daisy was eating its hat. Little twit.
When I was a kid we always went and cut down a tree in the old days. However, with cats and all, and not always having many visitors, hubby brought me a fake tree, bought after the season on sale.
It seems to work for us!

Cats have always been a fun part of Christmas. They are small enough to climb and get into trouble!
Daisy is trouble indoors and out!

Most of my ornaments my mom and dad bought me when I was in high school.
I traveled to Sudbury or Thunder Bay (I forget!) for a friend's wedding. It was cold and dark and lonely!

When I returned home, they'd been out to cut a large tree and they'd bought a small one for my bedroom!

The little tree was adorable, and had little lights and teeny ornaments. I kept them all. My mother so adored Christmas! She began playing Christmas Carols in the last week of August, when she returned to work.

Lovely, with hand-sewn sequins!
My late mother was a faithful volunteer. She put these ornaments together from a kit, donated to the church, back in 2004 or so. They were labour intensive, and they were to be sold for $10, according to the head bazaar lady, and it struck me that she'd put hours into this.
I went to their church bazaar and bought them, as I adored them. I paid more than the $10, too.
Someone keeps stealing Shaun Sheep, too! (He is new this year!)
The creche I made many years ago.
Every morning he's on the floor!
Jesse made this star years ago!
She keeps stealing them!
You cannot see me.
I am not here.

  5. Wonderful shots and memories. I like your black and white shot on the other blog but didn't comment since I don't use google plus and it wouldn't let me comment my regular way.

  9. Reminds me of all the ornaments Mom made over the years. I have a set in Powell River and a set here in Bellingham. Wherever we decide to have Christmas we are set. We now only have a small table tree, but way back when it was a six footer covered with her hand made items. It was just beautiful. - Margy

  10. Sweet Christmas memories! Your cat is a sweetie. Our cat Chase Bird doesn't seem interested in the tree, but our late kitties, especially our two girls, liked to chew and climb when given the chance. :-)

  18. Don't you just love your little kitty - devil though they may be! When I first put up our optical Christmas tree with tiny, slowly blinking lights, our cat, Sunny got under it and started chewing on the optical fibers! I stopped that really fast - didn't want her to get a shock or short-circuit all the lights!

  20. Daisy is a hoot. My cat is death on the Christmas tree and ornaments, also. It's annoying, but how can I deny her her idea of Christmas joy!
