Muskoka Trip Part I: The fall colours were amazing!

They predicted they would be rich and full, after last year's drought. They were right. But the
There is a face in the rock!
 leaves are nearly done.
We drove to Central Ontario, via Haliburton, Lake of Bays, Dwight, Huntsville, Bracebridge, to visit family and friends. Also, to check on my late parents' gravesite.

Yes, beautiful colours. Everyone, in cottage country, breathes a sigh when the tourists get back to the city, and school resumes. Summer and playtime is over, back to business for many. Cottage country citizens depend so heavily on tourism. Fall gives many a chance to breathe until snowmobile season begins.
Perhaps a bear in the rock face?!
I remember when they blasted, made rock cuts, for the highway.
Mind you, Cranberry Festival, in Bala, is coming soon, the weekend after Thanksgiving in October.

The fall tourists are plentiful, as well. Buses are constantly passing us, on their Fall Colours Tours. I wonder what one can see from a tinted bus window, but that is just me!
We cottaged in Bala from 1960 to 2010. I know all these roads so well!
And on the trip home, we stayed over in Bancroft. This was the view from our room. I had to take a walk, on dewy grass, to get closer.

  1. Thank you for these beautiful fall vistas...since I am in Mumbai for six months, it's my only chance to see them. Spectacular shots.

My pink skies are over the Arabian Sea in Mumbai.
