I visited a fundraiser golf tournament June 1st. They had asked me to take photos of all of t
he participants, a sponsor was going to print them.
Whilst there, I spotted some geese and goslings on the river that runs through it.
The goslings are adorable.
Then, on a trip to visit a client, I spotted these troops on the shore. Happily grazing, they were doing a good job as grounds crew. This was June 5th, around noon. It is private property, but I peeked over the fence.
As I drove by Friday morning, June 19th around 6:25 a.m., I could see them feeding. I love to see how fast the babies grow! All fuzzy, they swim so well. Some were sleeping, some were on guard, protecting the goslings. Their flight feathers are growing in. They look so frowsy, but soon will be indistinguishable from their parents. Peculiar how the animal world depends on all looking the same, having the same camouflage, whilst our kids work hard as teens to be incredibly different!

ReplyDeleteDávno som nevidela tak veľa husí. Ani v našej zoologickej záhrade ich toľko nemajú. Pekný príspevok. Ďakujem za návštevu na mojom blogu a za komentár.
ReplyDeleteI've already seen so many geese. Even in our zoo so many do not. Nice post. Thank you for visiting my blog and for your comment.
They are beautiful but unfortunately too plentiful around here, them and the rabbits.
ReplyDeleteThe goslings are so cute. I saw them all the time in Illinois, but we don't have them in Hawaii.
