I've watched these geese care for their goslings all spring and summer.
They are getting bigger and bigger. Reduced from 4 parents and 11 goslings, nature takes its course. I watched them, as the cat spooked them. They flew ripping lightly over the water. They all are able to use their wings to move, if not fly! Giving them roots and wings, the adults have done well. It is wonderful seeing them grow to independence. They still travel in a group, which gives some protection, and propagation of the species as only one might be taken at a time by a lurking predator.
