An amazing day (Thursday!) for skywatchers. We had it all: rain, snow, sleet and hail. But the amazing thing to see (and try to photograph) was the clouds, then sun, the gold-tinged hail in the distance, with the beautiful blue in between.
Finally, in the water I spotted the Loch Muskoka monsters! The skies colours reflected in the gloomy lake.
Hail, hail, the gang's all here! Shadows lengthen in setting sun.

The second picture made it all worthwhile, no?
ReplyDeleteWe also had some ice pellets, then five minutes later, sunshine!
It is true! With more to come...
ReplyDeleteGuess many of us are getting a huge variety of "fall" skies lately! Does make for some really lovely photos and yours are lovely! The second one is really stunning!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

You win, all we had was rain and LOTS of wind. That was enough for me. - Margy

ReplyDeleteJenn: Really cool captures on these cloudy days. I loved your monster.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, - love the second one.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots! Love the second picture the best!
ReplyDeletewow..you did have a bet of everything! I haven't seen hail for several years (thankfully). Hmmm...loch monsters? Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteThe new header makes me think of late autumn, and the coming winter! I love the side lighting in the photo of the hail!!
ReplyDeleteI do not envy you the G8 summit. Maybe you should just get in provisions and stay home for the week?
That second capture is outstanding. What a mix of weather. And what are the monsters?
ReplyDeleteLove the new header.
Great sky photos, the second is my favorite.
ReplyDeletethe sky shot was vaaast !!! loved it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, all, for the compliments.
ReplyDeleteI think the 'monsters' are fishers. They were so quick. I could hardly spot them. They are too big for muskrat; tail too skinny for beaver. The ducks were quite afraid of them and flew up out of the water as I stood there.
