Turkeys and deer

Out the kitchen window... March 20th. The turkeys are in mating mode. The two males, with a harem of about a dozen females, strut around protecting them.

The story on trailcam #2 is fun! For newbies, the males have a 'beard' which you can see on the turkey above. The females do not.

This is a raccoon with kits. Hooper was chasing one of them last night at 9 p.m., he is incorrigible.

Is that JB with the bucket? When we had a herd of deer around the yard, before dogs, Mike would shake the bucket of feed and they would come running. They would stand around waiting for him to throw the seed down but they wouldn't approach him.

It IS JB, Karen! He adores his deer. It reminds him of being on the farm, as a kid, with the horses.

Beautiful photos! Lovely shots!
Please tell the turkeys that they can emigrate to Europe!
We do not celebrate Thanksgiving! LOL (By the way, Canada is celebrating thanksgiving?) :)
Wishing you a nice weekend!

Hi Jenn-
You have some great animals visiting you.
I am glad you feed them and are friendly to them.
Do you use a night motion camera to take the photos of the raccoons?
Just curious...
Thank you for your visit and comment.
Have a Happy WE!
Peace :)

Those turkeys are HUGE! We have some in our community but I don't think they are that big. Love seeing your photos! Hugs!

Interesting that you have Wild Turkeys. Their displays must be similar to our Black grouse who indulge in "lekking", dancing around in circles, jumping up and down and making lots of noise. Not just at weekends though.
