We rode the Wolfe Isl. Ferry

On our way to owl watch, I snapped some photos of the harbour. Lots of ducks. The ice is broken and re-broken as the ferry comes and goes.
Dull, gray skies, and gray ice. It's not so much a great day for photos, but there we were!

I don't mind the grey color, it has a certain beauty of its own. It's just that this color means cloudiness, and that affects my health giving me low back pain.

We are waiting for a bit warmer weather to head to Wolfe Island. It is a place we have never been too. New adventures.

I had/have relatives on the Island, though I haven't been there since the 80s. Used to be great fun riding the ferry! I have a ivid memory in my head, of sitting on the ferry in a good wind. The newborn in my arms was howling her head off, I went and sat in the car while Stevie Wonder sang "Isn't She Lovely" on the radio. That baby girl is hitting 40 this May! My kids still go every summer as their father keeps the place for a cottage

grey can also be beautiful, and the birds perching on those broken slabs of ice... The ferry with the what we call a " Cherry Picker" still working, and occasional water showing. Lovely all through.

Our new ferry has arrived, but it is still under testing and training for the crew. It's beautiful, but the big question is, will it be reliable. It better be for what it cost. - Margy
