We had a staycation, in the bridal suite!

Good old hubby! My back has been sore. Caitlin and I had a facial and pedicure last week. This week, hubby decided to pamper me some more, and did an extensive bit of research to find a place with a bathtub whirlpool in the room. There aren't that many about!

We ended up buying a package: dinner, overnight in the bridal suite with the whirlpool tub! It was delightful. We were in the Baldachin Inn. An old, old building. It is amazing. There is a beautiful dining room, which we have visited often, and house-made meals. My faithful readers know how important this is to hubby (no dairy, yeast, eggs). The meal included appetizer, salad, dinner, dessert. The meal I couldn't finish (it was brunch the next day) and the dessert I similarly took home.
Friday, a grumpy Daisy. She missed us.
My leftovers were yummy.

There were a few off-season problems: neither the TV nor the Wifi were working. The owners are in the middle of converting from cable to highdef TV, as well as a new wifi.
I finished my novel and hubby went out and bought me a couple of books to keep me going.
I forgot my toothbrush.
The stores in Merrickville are open 11:00 to 4:00 most days. However, many of the stores are only open Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Who knew? We did have a discount on off-peak days, as part of the package.
The beds are very high up, and we had to hop to get up on them! It was fun!

It is the most beautiful room, taking you back to the early days of Merrickville. The decor is amazing, high ceilings, huge mirrors in the renovated bathroom. The old wooden floors harken back to the day.

It looks like they have done a beautiful job renovating that old building. Too bad about the tv and wifi. Hope your back is feeling better -Jenn

Sometimes it is GOOD to unplug!

Do you have a facility near you that has a pool and hot tub? Our Best Western have both and for a small fee, anyone can make use of them.

romance and love all in the 100% bracket, beautiful, The bubble bath, posted bed, and I see a warm scarf too. Still lots of snow and cold days your way. Maybe too much working with a shovel and trudging in the deep wet snow isn't helping your back. Rest and hot packs? The night away must have been a wonderful time.

I'm under the impression that your hubby is a most romantic person and an ideal husband.
Sometimes, no TV and no Wi-Fi is a blessing.
Judging by the pictures in your post, the place does perfectly fit the occasion.
