River otter on the creek

On a snowy afternoon, we crossed the creek. With my eagle-eyes I saw an otter. What fun.
We drove past, turned around in the church parking lot, then came back. I hopped out and grabbed my videocam. The trucks were zipping past. Hubby drove on and turned around, back up the hill to the church and waited for me. This isn't a hobby for chumps!

Excellent spotting skills, Jennifer. The otter seems to be puzzling over your presence. The skin on it's nose seems injured.

I've seen them in the summer in Algonquin. It's a lot of fun to watch them!

And if you venture further south, a long long way further, to the South Pole, there are only 2 variations of the temperatures, COLD, and VERY COLD. According to our family in B.C. right now, it is COLD.love the otter, and J.B. you are a dream, to stop and wait.

Great photos and video. We enjoyed watching otters when we lived in Nova Scotia. I haven't seen one in ten years now. Thanks for posting!
