Day trip to Golden Lake & Barry's Bay #3

Day trip to Golden Lake & Barry's Bay #1Day trip to Golden Lake & Barry's Bay #2

Yes, part #3! I took a lot of photos, and, of course, hubby drives so that I can do drive-by shootings! Sometimes we stop, and sometimes we have to turn around and go back.

Hubby comes up with a route, and my job is to devise a road that will take us off his plan onto the gravel roads!
Off-road, fall colours are beginning to show.

Off-road

September 9th we took off after a big storm passed through the area. You can see some roads washed away. They are lovely, quiet roads.
Then there are the roads, 'Not maintained in winter!'

Then there is the signage!

♪♫♫♬ Always look on the bright side of life! I love signage. Misspellings irk me, however. Then there are the incongruous ones.
White Cedars Park, for example, is private, trailer park only, no drop-ins! A bit hostile, there is history there.

Poor hubby! He's brave... we laugh about it. Here is a 4x's speeded up version. These are the kind of roads you don't want to meet another car. Gillian GPS lets us know if it's not a through road.

Aprecio muito árvores, especialmente, os pinheiros. O cedro do Líbano também me agrada muito, imponente beleza.
As fotos estão maravilhosas, apreciei uma a uma, ampliadas.
Muito bom Jennifer.
Beijos e dias felizes.

Fun car trip! And its' nice to know that someone takes even more drive-by pictures than I do. Our husbands would probably feel they had a lot in common!

We travel with Gillian too! We used to have a GPS where you had a choice of Jack or Jill voices. We used Jill. When we got an upgrade, the female voice was the only one and she was much better than Jill -- a more refined and more human voice. Bill said she needed an upgraded name and so she became Jillian.

The road I live on has one of those "not maintained" signs. Every time we have a good downpour, half the neighbours lane ends up in my culvert. Our township is very good about getting out promptly to clean things up and make the road passable again.
