Art in the Barn

Art in the Barn 2014

It seems it was a reprise. We were there last year and it dumped rain. We took the girls in 2014, as well:  Babysitting: Day 2 –Art in the barn, more rain.

Josee made herself a barn, with art!
We'll be grandsitting in a couple of weeks. I'll have to dream up some activities for them.

Art in the Barn

Art in the Barn has free admission and free parking. That's a great deal! There are two buildings, including the big barn. It is often the host for festivals.

The paintings, scultures, etc., are by amateurs, and professionals alike.  Although, I figure once you sell one, you are a pro! It is a volunteer-driven organisation. The paintings seem to start at $300. Some caught my fancy, but we'd have to sell some of our prints to make some room.
In the meantime, we both bid on some auction items. I always do, since it boosts revenue. Hubby won a gift certificate to C.C.'s which we frequent, frequently. I bid on some paint supplies. There was some nice art, some great art, and some interesting multimedia art.

It is a large barn, with a leaky roof. They need $2000 to fix it, but they do not have it. A bit of a problem. In the meantime, they are having their brick post rebuilt. More on that anon.

What a great display, and lots of different goodies to bid for. Hope they can get that roof fixed before your winter.

Hopefully ventures like this help get the money for the roof. It's a great setting for art.
