NaPoWriMo 2014 Day 1

It is national poetry writing month, AKA Napowrimo. I haven't been up for it. Until now.
I'm only a few days behind!

cookies
My daughter embroidered this
for my mother, Joan (1925 - 2006)
stored in tupperware
high atop the fridge
she's baked up a storm
as always
after dinner
we'd try just one
maybe two or three
kids helped themselves
no limit at gramma's house
chemo killed her
the smell of the cookies
remains in my psyche
peanut butter infused with love

Day 1 prompt
Today, I’d like you to go to Reb Livingston’s Bibliomancy Oracle. Clear your mind, push the button, and then write a poem based on the quotation that the oracle provides. Happy writing!
My prompt:
Well, you’ve gotta have your cookies, I know.
You gotta have your cookies
and your gun.

You've been busy again!! Baking bread is one of those practice things; can't beat the smell of fresh baked. Nor of peanut butter cookies...mmmmmmm Lovely offerings Jenn. Here's to a grand weekend. YAM xx
