As your life flashes before your eyes

I've been on the road a fair bit, lately. I swear I am the only amateur photographer in Ontario
Poor baby - roadkill
who has failed to spot a Snowy Owl on highway #7. We've put in a fair amount of time into the hospital, as well as kilometres! I shall have to be happy with our Barred owl we found by the side of the highway.
Likely hunting mice, and hit by a speeding car.

Between cancer assessment tests (MRI, Bone Scan, CT Scan),
People don't stop, or slow down,
when one is turning into a laneway!
pre-op appointments, pre-op post-op-care training (PPT!), going to the hospital, picking hubby up from the hospital, getting test results, it adds up. Then, yesterday having to pick up special prescription from the hospital (unavailable here) = lots of driving. (85 x 2) x 11 trips = 1870km.
I enjoy driving. Thankfully.

Thank heavens for adult children. My son flew in from Vancouver as his father (my first husband) has had a heart attack. He drove from his sister's car to the hospital pharmacy, and brought back the meds back to her house, where I met them. It saved me a half hour from the 90 minute trip.

I cannot tell you the number of close calls on our highways. Dumb people passing without looking ahead for oncoming traffic. This video, below, taken by professional truckers and a dash cam, demonstrates the horror.

Slow down. Somebody out there loves you, or your victim.

Giant intake of breathe!

Published on 26 Jan 2014- the wife of the trucker writes:
SEMI driver crashes into guardrail after being pushed off the road by another semi on Ontario Highway 11. Yes he was carrying a full load, no he was not driving to fast for the conditions, yes the on coming semi was in the wrong lane passing a snow plow on a double solid line going uphill and heading into a curve while carrying a dangerous load (that is what the sign on the trailer shows).

A huge Thank You to all of you that have showed your support to my husband and our family!!! We will never meet you but are so thankful for you.Physically my husband is okay but his semi suffered a lot of damage. He avoided the other truck by inches. We are still looking for the other driver and appreciate all the eyes out there on the road. We are praying that they will step up on their own and accept responsibiilty. Cheers to all!

No matter how much you enjoy driving it is stressful under those circumstances, not to mention the weather. Take care. Glad your son was able to help.

An update: My ex-husband died this morning from the results of his heart attack, while having chemotherapy.
My 2nd husband is healing well from HIS surgery. Thankfully.

Jennifer, I'm so sorry to hear about your ex. My condolences to your children and to you, of course. If your connection to him was anything like what my ex and I have, I'm sure you're deeply saddened by his passing. Hugs to you and yours.

I'm glad your hubby is doing well.

It's incredible how many yahoos are driving our roads.
You have found yourself in a very stressful time. I hope everything works out.

When out with family on a longer drive recently, we had a similar experience. Idiots are everywhere.

More importantly, you and yours have my commiserations for loss of No. 1, but am so glad for you that No. 2 is doing so well. Be safe and well yourself Jennifer!! YAM xx
