Search for missing downed Cessna pilot continues in Georgian Bay

 Posted Nov. 9, 2013 4pm: The search continues for the pilot of a Cessna that may have gone down north of Sprat Point in Georgian Bay. Yesterday debris from the plane was found in that area.

There was a plane crash in which two died. I read somewhere that his friend told him that at age 75 he ought not to be flying a plane. 
Their plane did not clear the trees. This looks like wind or pilot error. What a risk he takes. We have seen planes on our lake that barely clear the trees. The wind is unpredictable.

The Transportation Safety Board can take more than two years to issue a full report on an air crash. It currently has 12 investigations open of fatal accidents involving air taxis and three fatal crashes involving small commuter operators.

I'm not sure what your point is with the news of these crashes? I had my private pilot license and we would get all the reports on the accident investigations. That's when it gets interesting. Many new regulations would result from accident investigations. There is a comparison of air accident investigations to medical mistakes and the lack of investigation and development of regulations in the medical field.

Red, I've been keeping track. It's quite the thing to have your own plane.
I've been tracking them after a helicopter landed at our local General Store.

The crash in Bute Inlet was a long time Powell River resident. He served as an MLA for our region and was an excellent pilot. You just never know. - Margy

The reason I saved these is that I was curious about the data. I kept up a Google search alert, and wanted to see if there were patterns. As well as frequency.
