Do you remember the issue with Asian Carp? Huge, top of the food chain fish, with horrible teeth and voracious appetites that eat up the competition. Here is another one!

NEWMARKET, ON, Nov. 14, 2012 /CNW/ -  Lucky Aquarium was ordered to pay a total of $75,030 in fines and surcharges with an additional $1,250 to be paid for the publication of notices that warn of the dangers of invasive species.

They pled guilty to violating the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (WAPPRIITA) by illegally exporting an invasive species, Snakehead fish (Channidae) to the United States and illegally transporting Snakehead fish from Ontario to Manitoba.

We have been incredibly stupid when it comes to invasive species. they are still talking about importing species to control various pests.

Goodness, why do people mess with this junk? So much god-playing, and the mess we make....

How ridiculously irresponsible!

Apparently the jumping carp have made it to the Mississippi. While amusing in ways, it's a dangerous thing to the indigenous plants/fish...

What some people do to make a buck makes me cringe. Could it be possible that some humans do not have brains?

Just like BIG OIL COMPANIES...pay the fine and continue to spill into our waters and kill our wild life. I agree with the comments above. Thanks for this post Jenn.
