It's that time of year! Horses everywhere...

Horsefly
See the colours in its wings
Yes, they are biting, those mosquitoes, and, whilst gardening, I was harassed by a horsefly.

Big twerp.

No mind. I have birds about.

Lovely birds that eat millions of bugs for us every day!
What a busy king of the castle!
This kingbird was picking bugs off of the driveway and front yard. Bless its little soul. It was working very hard, like a jet fighter pilot.

I went down to LAWS and spotted these horses grazing in the field.
The horses kept moving, but had to scratch some, too!
Everyone suffers from the bugs!
Wait for me, Mom!

That's my Mom!

Sorry, no treats for you!

And off it went...

I love that the birds eat the bugs too, but they don't always get enough of them. Nice pictures of all your 'critters."

Send me some of those birds, Jenn!
We're having lots of rain, which is good for ranchers and farmers, but the clay soil here does not absorb water quickly, so there is a lot of standing water, which always means mosquitoes.
Love the horse photos, especially the foal.

First....love the starling images you shared in the post below. But, now that I've read your 'buggy' post, I seem to have the urge to scratch the itches I now have.

Sweet horses!!!! Nasty bugs.

I really hate horse flies as the really cause a problem. Mosquitoes I can handle if their not overly abundant.

Okay, they feed the birds. They do have a purpose...other than annoying the bejesus out of me.
