What happens at gramma's...

Doesn't stay at gramma's house! Too much fun sharing the joy.
The kittens are a bit wary of the girls.
Isabelle has made a friend, though. After figuring out how to get the cat treats out of the old spice bottle, she fed them all to voracious Felix.

Isabelle tries to befriend Buster.
He wasn't inclined to cooperate.

Ring around the rosie ( or coffee table).
We watched some videos, played, rang the bells, and did much art work.

Josephine looks around the dinner table and pointed out that the four of us were all wearing glasses!

Her favourite word, 'mine!'

cat toys are more fun than kid toys!
She ate ALL of her dinner. Isabelle didn't like my mashed potatoes. The ham was a hit, though. All four pieces at once, of course.

Bedtime was interesting. We watched Anastasia for the 4th time. Isabelle played bells again.
Isabelle loves my bells. The crystal ones are up high,
but the brass ones are fair game!

They sat on the pillows watching the video. Eventually, Isabelle looked droopy, she'd only had a short nap. I asked her if she wanted a bath (usually a big hit!) but she shook her head vigorously. Three times!

I changed her diaper, this is the baby who used to complain when her diaper was wet, you always knew when to change her, as she fussed, and I popped her directly into her sleepers.
We had a lovely snuggle in the easy chair. I snuggled Isabelle with her beebee, and she got even droopier. I popped her into her travel crib and she went right off to sleep.

Jofee with her giraffe beebee
-her first Christmas!
[For the other gramma/grampas out there, a 'beebee' is a marvellous gift. Satin around the edges, it is a wonderful sleep toy. They each have one at the babysitter's house, as well.]

Jofee wanted two stories. No problem. I've bought dozens at 2nd hand sales, and she made her choices. She loves books.

Then she wanted a made-up story. This is a family tradition, beginning with her mother!

Josephine's favourite pretend character is *Nebakanezer.
This female flying unicorn picks up Jofee from her home, after she packs her jammies in her back-pack, and flies her to our house. Nebakanezer likes to play outside with the deer, while Jofee visits indoors.

I did an audiotape of a variation of this story and the kids play it for her at bedtime. Grandparenting is great!

*Nebuchadnezzar (reigned 605-562 B.C.E.-Before the Common Era) was a king of Babylon during whose long and eventful reign the Neo-Babylonian Empire attained its peak and the city of Babylon its greatest glory.
