rebels and quackers and feathered snackers

The ducklings pick off the bugs on the lily pads, roaring around like little motor boats.

This kid was casting, while big sister paddled, and he spotted Rebel duckling who paddled like a cartoon character to find mom.

Running up for safety on the rock like a rocket. A boy's joyful laughter echoed across the lake. I hope he has a better appreciation of wildlife!

Go, ducklings, go! I often wonder how the adults manage to get enough food as they maintain vigilance for weasels, fishers and the like.

I love watching the animal world as they juggle for territory. They never fight to the death, and they just do a 'who is in charge' dance! The ducklings love the foliage, as the bugs dance about in the shelter from the wind. You can see this dance in the video below.

Such a fun post. I'm sure the kids in the boat did end up with more of an understanding of nature. You have to get out there and see it to appreciate it.

I'm impressed with your videography talents -- can't remember if I've commented on those before.

Thank you, Sallie! You are very kind to say. I know that people tell me they enjoy my tongue-in-cheek videos! My son is an actor. I suppose there is the drama queen in many teachers, too!
